Fela! The Musical premiered outside Broadway in September 2008 and closed after a month. Its Broadway debut was on October 2009 and officially opened the following month, running for more than a year. The Fela! Broadway production received eleven Tony Awards nominations and won three of them. On the other hand, the London production premiered on November 2010 and is continually running now.
